Frequently Asked Questions

We hope that the following information will help clear up any questions that you may have about Coastline Coasteering. If not, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Will I be put under pressure?
Our sessions are all about having fun! If you don’t want to take part in some of the course that’s fine you can skip it and wait for the next part. The courses are very gradual, and the routes tend to become more adrenaline fuelled towards the end, so it is fine to just take part in some of the course and then walk or swim the final parts – or grab a camera to take some photos!

What happens in a typical session?
We kit you out at the centre in a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet and we recommend that you bring an old pair of trainers to wear. Then it’s down to the launch point where you will be briefed by your Coasteer Leader for the day – Brendan or Mark.

They will explain the route that you’ll be taking and run over safety tips, techniques, safety procedures and the use of equipment. They’ll check that everyone has got their helmet and buoyancy aid on right and that everything’s tight enough.

Following the briefing the real adventure begins where you will be swimming, traversing over rocks, delving into caves and jumping into the sea. All on Cornwall’s world class stunning coastline.

Are you accredited?
All of our Coasteer Guides are qualified lifeguards and CRB checked. Brendon, our Head of Coasteering, has been a qualified Coasteer Leader for 5 years. We strictly adhere to the Coasteer Charter and have our own in-house professional development training.

Are there any requirements for undertaking a lesson or course?
You must be over eight-years-old, be able to swim 50 metres and have declared any medical problems on your consent form.

How much is a session?
The price for one person for one session is £40. If there are more of you then there are group discounts available.

What do I need to bring?
All you need to bring is a towel, a swimming costume or trunks for under your wetsuit, and an old pair of trainers.

Is there somewhere to put my belongings?
You can leave all of your things in the changing room which is within our centre and is under constant supervision. Valuables can be placed in our deposit boxes behind the counter.

Is there somewhere to park?
Parking can be purchased from the Carnmarth Hotel for £2 per session, or if the car park is full there is Pay and Display parking on the road down towards Little Fistral beach, which is three minutes walk from our centre. If you are arriving as a group in a mini bus or coach please let us know and we can often help out with parking if you let us know in advance.
